The Department of Sanitation Services is working very hard to improve
the brush collection service throughout Dallas. They need your assistance in facilitating
the way they handle brush and bulky trash. Please separate your brush from your bulky
items at the curbside.
Brush and Bulky Trash are collected once each month per household. Residents
may place out materials no earlier than Thursday before collection week.
To ensure collection, have materials set out at your front property line no later
than 7 a.m. on Monday of the collection week, to maintain cleanliness and
appearance of the neighborhood.
Place sealed plastic bags and leaves (up to 50 gallon/50 pound capacities) tree
limbs, furniture, appliances, mattresses, etc. at the curb, but not on sidewalks.
Call 3-1-1 or on line at to report missed service.
EARLIER SET OUT is a violation of City Code, subject to a citation and a
FINE up to $2000.00.

Materials NOT collected as brush/bulky trash are:
- bagged grass clippings
- new construction or remodeling materials (lumber, sheetrock, etc.)
- rocks, bricks, concrete, or dirt
For the Cost Plus Brush Service (acceptable materials on non-scheduled week), call
3-1-1 or 214-670-8183 for a free estimate. Some construction or remodeling
materials (brick, concrete, dirt or rock is prohibited) may be picked up
on Cost Plus on demand outside of the normal collection week for an extra cost.
The Cost Plus Service charge will be added to your monthly water bill.
If you have any questions about city services, call 311.
There have been cases where the trash trucks have missed some streets in our neighborhood.
Who you gonna call??? Either 311, or online via the Dallas 311 System,
click here. You can haul your own refuse by taking materials,
including paper for recycling, in cars, station wagons, ½ ton pick-ups, and single
axle trailers at no charge to the Northwest Bachman Transfer station at 9500 Harry
Hines. Call the transfer station at 214-670-6161 for operating hours. You
need to show proof of a Dallas residence (driver’s license).
Remember, just one person putting out trash too early causes a "snow-ball" effect
throughout the neighborhood. Dumping is illegal in any vacant lots, e.g., the pocket-park
on Fortson, and the corner lot at Genstar and Crownover.
