Welcome to the North Dallas Neighborhood Alliance Crime Watch Web Site!

North Dallas is a great place to live, and to keep it that way we need the member HOAs to have active Neighborhood Crime Watch Programs.  Our once-sleepy area is now surrounded homes, apartments, businesses, increased traffic and increased accessibility; therefore, it is more important than ever for each homeowner association and resident to take an active role in protecting our neighborhoods.  Look, listen, and call Dallas Police. Better safe than sorry, so don’t hesitate to contact law enforcement at 911!

The basic principle of a Neighborhood Crime Watch Program is that neighbors watch out for each other. By looking after a neighbor’s property – and Homeowner Association's common areas -- as if they were your own, you will more likely contact the police if you observe something suspicious. Citizens act as extra "eyes and ears" for the police department so that calls to the police will be made when criminal activity is suspected. An alert and cooperative neighborhood is the greatest single defense against crime. By getting to know your neighbors and their vehicles, you will most likely be alert to suspicious people, vehicles, and/or sounds that could indicate criminal activity.

Neighbor Responsibilities:

As a Crime Watch Neighbor, your responsibilities are to be a good neighbor by watching out for each other's property and by reporting suspicious activity to the police. YOU should know the three (3) neighbors across the street from your home, on each side, and the three (3) neighbors behind your residence. YOU should have a heightened awareness for your neighbors welfare and YOU should be more than willing to report suspicious activity to the police. Citizens can be assured that when they report suspicious activity, their name will be held in strictest confidence.

Did you know . . . .

The Dallas Junior Police Academy is a daylong training session held on a Saturday, for students grades 4-7 held at the Dallas Police Department’s Basic Training Academy.

What will the students who attend be doing? Students who attend the JPA will be spending the their time at the academy immersed in a day of new experiences as each student receives instruction from recruit trainers. They are challenged on decision making, experience numerous hands-on activities such as the obstacle course and physical training (PT) to get the feel of what it would be like as a Dallas Police Academy recruit and meet officers from around the police department who are assigned to specialized units such as K-9, Mounted Unit, SWAT Team, Motorcycle Officers and Helicopter Unit. In addition, outstanding instructors will be discussing such topics as how to combat Drugs and Gang’s, what does a Crime Scene Investigator do and much more!
